PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably weld a weld metal of a ring form or the like to be welded by a series method or an indirect method. SOLUTION: A weld metal to be welded is suppressed by a cylindrical electrode 1 by compressing an air cylinder 16 thereby lowering an electrode disc 8. Moreover, the air cylinder is extended to lower a bar-like electrode 2 to the center of the cylindrical electrode together with the electrode disc 8 and press another weld metal made contact with the above weld metal with prescribed pressure. In this state, A current is made to flow through the cylindrical electrode 1 and the bar-like electrode 2 via the weld metals to be welded, to weld them to each other. Since the current is made to evenly flow over the whole periphery of the cylindrical electrode 1 across the cylindrical electrode 1 and the bar-like electrode 2, and a spring 32 continues pressing the bar-like electrode 2 during the welding, favorable welding is performed not only in the case of ordinary welding but also in the cases of ring projection welding, multiple projection welding, or the like.
