PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a die for molding a honeycomb structure capable of using an electrode for electric discharge machining more effectively than the prior art in electric discharge machining of a slit groove. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the die for molding the honeycomb structure having at least a plurality of supply holes for supplying material and a slit groove that communicates with the plurality of supply holes, is formed in a hexagonal grid shape, and is used for molding the material into a honeycomb shape, in machining the slit groove, groove forming surfaces are machined by electric discharge plural times using the electrode 1 for electric discharge machining that has a machining surface 10 that has an outline size smaller than that of a groove forming surface of the die material, a substantially polygonal contour shape, and an entire part projecting than its periphery.
