PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize operation factor reduction of a wire electric discharge machining device even when a wire electrode is caught in a mechanism part. SOLUTION: This device sounds a buzzer and calls an operator when the wire electrode 8 is caught in the mechanism part such as an A section or a C section and possibility that it cannot be restored by a retry operation is high, so that the wire electric discharge machining device does not repeat the retry operation. Therefore, the availability can be prevented from decreasing extremely. When the wire electrode 8 is caught in the mechanism part such as a B section where success possibility of automatic connection by the retry operation is high, the retry operation is performed. Therefore, labor of the operator can be minimized.
