The selective frequency extraction circuit transmits one or more selected frequencies. The input signal is fractionated by a first demultiplexer (DEMUX') , then supplying several input ports (M1 - M9) of a further multiplexer (MUX'). This uses its routing properties to carry out the extraction of one or more frequencies of the input signal. The selective frequency extraction circuit transmits one or more selected frequencies from a frequency division multiplex type signal. This constitutes N channels on an output port (O1) and all the other frequencies appear on another output port (O2). The input signal is fractionated by a first demultiplexer (DEMUX') with the destination being a number of interlaced stages of optical switches (C, A, B). This allows the selective supplying of several input ports (M1 - M9) of a further multiplexer (MUX'). This uses its routing properties to carry out the extraction of one or more frequencies of the input signal, or the multiplexing with insertion and extraction of frequencies in reconfigurable format.
