PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a generator placed in an engine cover of an outboard engine. SOLUTION: An AC generator for an outboard engine is placed adjacently to a vertical engine with a vertically mounted crankshaft, driven by an engine power through a belt-pulley mechanism, and provided with a vertically mounted driving shaft in an engine cover covering an engine, auxiliary apparatuses and peripheral devices. The generator is provided with a cooling air guide cover 40 of the generator covering an upper portion of the AC generator. The cooling air guide cover 40 is provided on an upper surface thereof with an opening portion 45 for making communicate a generator side with an upper side of the generator. The cover 40 is provided with on both sides of the upper surface with tall erected walls 42, 42. A middle portion between the tall erected walls forms a lower position top surface 43 having a recessed cross-section opening forward and rearward. The lower position top surface is provided with an opening portion 45. |
