PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To locate a fault point in a power transmission system. SOLUTION: A first fault position is calculated assuming that the fault is positioned on the power sending side of an equivalent tap node. A second fault position is calculated assuming that the fault is positioned on the power receiving side of the equivalent tap node. The fault position is selected from one of the first fault position and the second fault position, by selecting a fault position having a value expressing a full distance between two nodes within a predetermined range. |
