PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mitigating agent for symptoms caused by inflammation, having effect for inflammatory symptoms caused by bacterial infection, especially for the symptoms of fluid retention such as retention of pleural fluid or abdominal dropsy in inflammatory region and neutrophilic leukocytosis in blood. SOLUTION: This agent is obtained by including human lactoferrin as the active ingredient and can effectively mitigate inflammatory symptoms caused by bacterial infection, especially the symptoms of fluid retention such as retention of pleural fluid or abdominal dropsy in inflammatory region and neutrophilic leukocytosis in blood by being orally or parenterally taken or administered.
