PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shoe expanding device for a drum brake and the drum brake with the shoe expanding device, which has a fixed member mounted with a crank mechanism, i.e., the shoe expanding device, and abounding in durability without being abraded, achieves stable brake performance over a long period, and generates no noise. SOLUTION: A crank mechanism 22 expanding a pair of brake shoes 12 and 13 is movably mounted on fitting bolts 20 and 21 fitting an anchor block 16, i.e., the fixed member. A sliding section sliding on the fitting bolt 21 of a brake lever 24 forming the crank mechanism 22 is formed into a circular arc-shaped outer end face 24f centering a point between the fitting bolt 21 and the vicinity of a lever pin 25 on a lineαparallel with a brake axis through the axis in the line direction of a pivotal shaft 25 of the brake lever 24.
