FERROUS SINTERED ALLOY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the strength, toughness and wear resistance of a surface- nitrided ferrous sintered alloy containing chromium (Cr). SOLUTION: The ferrous sintered alloy has: a base material which contains chromium and in which the area ratio of pores at the surface is <=5% and the content of water existing in the inner side is <=0.1% by mass ratio; and a nitride layer formed on the surface of the base material.
