PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ferritic stainless steel sheet which has an excellent surface gloss by stably and uniformly forming roll coating thereon without causing the increase of its cost. SOLUTION: A ferritic stainless hot rolled steel sheet is annealed, and is hereafter pickled to control loss on pickling including descaling to >=14 g/m2. Next, the steel sheet is subjected to cold rolling so that the draft per pass is >=10%, and the total draft is >=50%. The ferritic stainless hot rolled steel sheet has a composition containing, by mass, <=0.100% C, <=1.5% Mn, <=1.5% Si, <=0.030% S, <=0.04% P, <=0.050% N and 14.0 to 25.0% Cr, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
