PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially suitable method for producing a mononitrated aromatic ether, with which a mononitrated aromatic ether can be produced in a high yield from an aromatic ether by a simple process without requiring a complex aftertreatment. SOLUTION: This method for producing a mononitrated ether is characterized in that an aromatic ether is reacted with 1 to 2 mol of nitric acid per mol of the aromatic ether and sulfuric acid in an organic solvent.
