PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a residence having convenience of going in and out in a dwelling in the upstairs equivalent to that of the first-floor dwelling. SOLUTION: A passage connecting an entrance porch to a balcony is provided so that residents come and go between the entrance porch and the balcony. In a residence having the porch and the balcony in the upstairs, an earthen floor of the porch and the balcony are made adjacent to each other, an entrance/exit is provided in a wall partitioning the earthen floor and the balcony so that the resident directly go in and out between the porch and the balcony. This constitution allows the residents to come and go between the balcony and the outside without taking their shoes off and improves the convenience of going in and out in the upstairs like a first-floor residence with a garden.
