PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and stably provide pre-expanded beads of thermoplastic polyester-based resin having excellent antistatic properties and fusing properties. SOLUTION: At least a part of the surface of pre-expanded beads made of thermoplastic polyester-based resin is characteristically coated with a quaternary ammonium salt bearing the -ROSO3 group (wherein R is an alkyl) as an antistatic agent.
