SOLUTION: This method for producing an optically active chrysanthemic acid alkyl ester is characterized by comprising making an optical resolution of a chrysanthemic acid alkyl ester by chromatography using a polysaccharide derivative as the chiral stationary phase to dispense the objective optically active form.
