The difficulty of dissolving freeze-dried granules in cold water is overcome by ultrasonically vibrating the suspension. The mixing action is highly efficient so that satisfactory cold drinks can be made up rapidly with a minimum of freeze-dried product, e.g. orange or lemon juice. The mixer comprises a mixing chamber fed with water and granules and has an ultrasonic generator clamped to its base; a low speed rotary agitator can be used to assist in dispersing the granules in the liquid. The mixer is portable and inexpensive. |
