PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water resisting agent for an ink jet recording material and the ink jet recording material, of favorable water resistance, the water-based ink of which bleeds a few and the color developing properties of a pigment ink of which is excellent. SOLUTION: The water resisting agent for the ink jet recording material includes a cationic reaction product obtained through the reaction between a secondary amine and a xylylene dihalide. The ink jet recording material is produced by impregnating or coating the water resisting agent. |
