PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metal borohydride, by which the conversion of a metal borate to the metal borohydride is easily and surely increased. SOLUTION: In this method for manufacturing the metal borohydride, the metal borate, an alkaline earth metal and a 2nd metal having >=1000 deg.C melting point and capable of being alloyed with the alkakine earth metal are reacted with each other at >=500 deg.C in a reducing gas atmosphere at >=1 MPa pressure and containing hydrogen atom to produce the metal borohydride.
