摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elliptically polarizing plate for viewing angle compensation and an optical compensation sheet capable of simply improving the viewing angle characteristics of a TN LCD(twisted nematic liquid crystal display device) such as TN-TFT(twisted nematic-thin film transistor), and further to provide a liquid crystal display device with a simple construction and with a drastically improved viewing angle. SOLUTION: The elliptically polarizing plate for the viewing angle compensation provided with a polarizing plate A, an optically anisotropic layer and a transparent supporting body C with optically biaxial property, the elliptic is characterized by being manufactured via steps (1), (2). The optically anisotropic layer is formed on the polarizing plate A, directly or via another transparent supporting body (1), and subsequently the transparent supporting body C with the optically biaxial property is provided on the optically anisotropic layer directly or via another layer (2).
