<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing antimony by which antimony as impurities can be efficiently recovered from a dissolving solution of a lower fluorine concentration used for collecting and refining tantalum, niobium or the like. SOLUTION: The dissolving solution containing tantalum, niobium or both of them, also containing antimony as impurities, and used for collecting and refining tantalum, niobium or the like is made into a mixed acid of hydrofluoric acid and a mineral acid. In the dissolving solution, the composition in which the concentration of fluorine ions is 10 to 20 mol/l, and the concentration of free acid in the mineral acid is 0.5 to 10 mol/l is prepared. The solution temperature of the dissolving solution is controlled to 20 to <60 deg.C. A base metal component is added to the dissolving solution. Then, antimony is substitutionally precipitated onto the surface of the added base metal component, and is separated and removed as residual dross before the base metal component is completely dissolved.</p> |
