PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a binder resin for a toner in which two or more kinds of polymers are uniformly mixed even without using a solvent, and to obtain the binder resin for the toner available by the method for production. SOLUTION: This method for producing the binder resin for the toner comprises a mixing step of mixing (B) a polymer component obtained by polymerizing (A) a vinylic monomer with (D) a partial polymer prepared by polymerizing (C) a vinylic monomer and having <=70% polymerization ratio. The binder resin for the toner is obtained by the method for production.
