OPTICAL ELEMENT FOR IR RAY AND IR CAMERA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the cost of an optical element for IR rays and an IR camera. SOLUTION: The optical element which transmits and converges IR rays is divided into a plurality of regions each having a converging function so that the thickness of the material necessary for the manufacture of the element is suppressed to decrease the cost. The optical element is used as an imaging optical system of the IR camera to form a plurality of images on an image pickup element and then a single image is produced based on the output signals from the all pixels of the image pickup element.
