PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fine synthetic material having a reduced, to provide an optical product, such as a plastic lens, maintaining stability in a wide temperature range, and further to provide a method for producing the optical article having a reduced temperature sensitivity. SOLUTION: This optical fine synthetic material has a fine particulate filler dispersed in a host plastic material. According to the method of making the fine synthetic material, a predetermined temperature sensitive optical vector, such as refractive index, of the plastic host material and fine particulate filler are directionally opposed resulting in the fine synthetic material having significantly improved stability of the refractive index with respect to temperature.
