<p>High melting metals, esp. Ti (alloys), are descaled in a bath of hydrofluoric acid (concn. >38%). This process is esp. suitable for metals coated with silicates such as glass used as lubricants during pressing, and can be applied to metal articles of complex shape. The bath can be cooled to counteract heating resulting from the descaling process.</p> |
