PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which produces β-alumina solid electrolyte which unnecessitates a synthesizing process of a starting material for magnesium - aluminum spinel and enables the production of the β-alumina solid electrolyte which is more low-cost and has lower electrical resistance in the method for producing the β-alumina solid electrolyte which obviates a calcination process of the raw material. SOLUTION: In this method, slurry obtained by grinding and compounding respective raw materials of aluminum source, magnesium source and sodium source in water is granulated, thereafter, is formed and, subsequently, is burnt and the β-alumina solid electrolyte is produced without performing calcination of the raw material. Magnesium hydroxide is used as the magnesium source, in the burning process, an active spinel which is highly reactive is synthesized and, at the same time, citric acid is added to the slurry as a dispersing agent. |
