摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production process of a monolithic refractory block using a used refractory material as coarse aggregate, which involves mixing, as coarse aggregate of the block, a large amount of a nonmagnetic material in the used refractory material into a base mix for the monolithic refractory block, in order to avoid influence of the porosity and composition of the used refractory material and uniformly dispersing the coarse aggregate within the monolithic refractory block, and thereby enables enhancement of properties such as dissolution loss resistance and strength of the refractory block, reduction in amount of such a used refractory material to be disposed as waste and also reduction in refractory material cost. SOLUTION: This production process of the monolithic refractory block comprises: crushing a used refractory material; subjecting the crushed used refractory material to magnetic separation; thereafter mixing, as coarse aggregate 14, a nonmagnetic material which is separated from the crushed used refractory material and has 5-60 mm grain size, into a base mix for the refractory block in an amount sufficient to provide a 30-55 wt.% ratio of the nonmagnetic material to the resulting refractory block; wherein more specifically, the coarse aggregate 14 is charged into a form 13 beforehand, and then, the spaces among the grains of coarse aggregate 14 are filled with a slurry 15 obtained by adding water to a refractory raw material containing a hardening agent and a dispersant and mixing them together.
