PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable which is easily disassembled by making the separation of a water stopping layer and a sheath layer easy, in the optical cable in which the recycling of a material used for the sheath layer is made facilitated. SOLUTION: In the optical cable in which the water cutoff layer consisting of a water stopping material provided with a water absorption resin layer whose base material is a woven fabric or a nonwoven fabric is applied onto a slot to house a coated optical fiber in a groove, and the sheath layer is further coated, a welding preventive layer to prevent the welding of the water stopping layer with the sheath layer is interposed between the water stopping layers and the sheath layer. Particularly, straight chain low density polyethylene is preferably used for the sheath layer and the welding preventive layer. |
