PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of simply evaluating the coating properties of a coating film with respect to the edge part of an article to be coated, and to obtain a method for forming the coating film, on the basis of the evaluation data obtained by the evaluation method. SOLUTION: A metal blade 2 is attached to a support stand 1, so that the edge 2a thereof faces upward, and a paint is sprayed on the edge 2a from a coating gun 3 to form the coating film, and one terminal of a tester is brought into contact with the electrical continuity place of the blade and the other terminal thereof is brought into contact with the prescribed place on the edge 2a coated with the paint, and the presence of electrical continuity between the terminals is detected so as to evaluate the coating properties of the coating film at the prescribed place.
