PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the assembling property of an engine by allowing the mounting of an air guide for guiding cooling air by the mounting operation of an insulator. SOLUTION: A general purpose engine comprises an engine body 8 having a crankshaft 1, a cooling fan 12 driven by the crankshaft 1 to generate cooling air, and the insulator 25 arranged between a carburetor 24 for supplying an air-fuel mixture to the engine body 8 and the engine body 8. The insulator 25 comprises an insulator body 33 for connecting the carburetor 24 to the engine body 8 and the air guide 34 integrally formed thereon to guide the cooling air toward the engine body 8.
