PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and weight of an outboard motor and to prevent output loss by making lubricating oil staying within a crank chamber hardly exist or minimizing lubricating oil during the operation of the outboard motor in a tilt-up state. SOLUTION: This outboard motor 1 mounted on a hull by a mounting device having a tilt shaft is provided with an internal combustion engine 2 having a flywheel 56 provided at the lower end part of a crank shaft directing in the vertical direction and an oil pan arranged on the lower side of the flywheel 56. The upper wall of a flywheel chamber 59 for storing the flywheel 56 is constituted of the bottom wall of the crank chamber formed of a crank case 30. At the bottom wall 30a of the crank case 30 constituting the front part of an engine body 3, a return oil path 71 having inflow ports 71a and 71b with flowing lubricating oil within the crank chamber is formed at a position in front of the inner peripheral wall surface 60e of the peripheral wall 60 of the flywheel chamber 59 so as to feed back the lubricating oil within the crank chamber to the oil pan. |
