PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage detector capable of extending the life of a battery and the like, by reducing current consumption after detecting a voltage. SOLUTION: When a voltage to be detected is not more than a detecting voltage, the voltage is detected only in a short time at a fixed interval, and the detected result is preserved in a latch circuit. In a period other than the short time when the voltage is being detected, only a current to charge capacitance is consumed, and an average current consumption is substantially reduced in comparison with a conventional voltage detector.
