METHOD FOR CUTTING GLASS TUBE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cutting a glass tube which enhances the surface accuracy of a cut part and makes the cut length highly accurate in glass tube cutting. SOLUTION: This method for cutting the glass tube is characterized in that a local heated part 3 is formed on the circumference of the glass tube by means of a rotary gas burner 1 which has a flame hole 1a inside and is rotated along the circumferential surface of the glass tube 2 which is inserted and held by a glass tube feeder, and subsequently, a linear cut along the local heated part 3 on the circumference of the glass tube 2 is left, only the heated part is rapidly cooled by a quenching means 8, and a linear heat distortion part 7 along the cut is formed on the local heated part 3.
