IN-MOLD COATING MOLDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-mold coating molding method capable of easily forming a coating layer having high design effect on the surface of a resin molded product, by suppressing the elastic deformation of a bent piece when a coating agent is injected in the gap between the surface of the resin molded product and the cavity of a mold. SOLUTION: A mold 21 for in-mold coating molding is equipped with a fixed mold 22 and a movable mold 23 and constituted so as to enable mold clamping and mold opening in an up and down direction to manufacture a long product wherein the coating layer is provided on the surface of a base material 12 (resin molded product) having an inverted U-shaped cross section. A deformation preventing ridge 24 for forming a recessed groove 18 extending in the longitudinal direction of the fixed mold 22 along the leading edge of the bent piece 16 of the base material is provided to the fixed mold 22 to prevent the elastic deformation of the bent piece 16 when mold clamping pressure is lowered. In the in-mold coating molding method, the base material 21 is injection-molded in the mold 21 for in-mold coating molding and the movable mold 23 is subsequently opened by predetermined quantity and the coating agent is injected in the gap 30 between the base material 12 and the movable mold 23 to be cooled and cured.
