PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display material which can realize display characteristics with little color mixing in the base part. SOLUTION: The display material consists of a porous member, having pores, each of which is surrounded by a peripheral wall and a fluid colored material which fills the pores. The porous member has a single color tone, which is different from the tone of the fluid coloring material.
