PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet processing device capable of enhancing the productivity by controlling the transporting condition in the punching process. SOLUTION: The paper sheet processing device is equipped with a transporting means whereby each sheet of paper discharged from the side of a paper sheet output device is transported from the inlet to the sheet discharge part and discharged and a punching means to perform a punching process on the sheet transported by the transporting means, wherein at punching, the transporting motion of that part of transporting means corresponding to the punching means is stopped, while the other parts are allowed to make the punching process while they perform the transporting motion.
