PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit of an air conditioner capable of improving energy efficiency without increasing the outside dimension of a unit. SOLUTION: The outdoor unit of an air conditioner comprises a casing body formed such that air suction ports 8a are formed in two side wall panels 8 situated in positions opposed to each other; a heat exchanger 7 situated along each of the side wall panels 8 of the casing body; and a blower 9 to suck air in the internal part of the casing body through the air suction ports 8a and discharged to an external part through the upper surface side after the passage of it through the heat exchanger 7. In case of continuous installation, juxtaposition is effected such that the two side wall panels 8 are situated on the release side and the wall panel 8 on the other side is situated on the adjacent side. A distance L2 is secured between the side wall panel 8 forming the adjacent side and the heat exchanger 7 situated along the side wall 8 on the side, such that the distance is set to a value 5% or more based on a relative distance Ld between the side wall panels 8 at the release side.
