PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a space for a driving mechanism and a driving source to be installed with an auxiliary step. SOLUTION: A step tread 1 is provided freely to be reciprocated between a lower rear part (a step tread housing position Y) and a lower front part (a step tread projecting position X) of a vehicle step S on the same horizontal surface. A bottom part 1a of the step tread 1 is provided with the driving source 3, and a reciprocating means 4 of the step tread 1 is connected to the driving source 3 to utilize the step tread 1 as an installation space for the driving source 3.
