PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tableting machine and a tableting method which enable improvement in the tableting speed while minimizing addition of lubricant in a forming material by realizing uniform distribution of the lubricant in a predetermined part, and prevention of capping, lamination, etc., of obtained tablets. SOLUTION: This tablet-making machine 1 comprises a mill 3, a forming material feeding means for feeding the forming material to the mill, and upper and lower mallets 5 and 6 for pressing the forming material fed in the mill to mold the tablets, and further comprises a lubricant vaporizing and feeding means 8 which vaporizes the lubricant and feeds the vaporized lubricant to tablet-making surfaces of the upper and lower mallets, sliding surfaces of the upper and lower mallets, and/or a sliding surface of the mill.
