ARC WELDING CONTROL METHOD AND ARC WELDING EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel welding technique that enables welding of an extra thin plate which is unattainable by conventional arc voltage control. SOLUTION: An arc 13 is monitored by an optical sensor 15, while the obtained optical information such as illuminance is used as a parameter to control an electrode 11. In TIG welding, a comparison is made between a reference voltage and a measured voltage corresponding to the arc illuminance through a correlation between illuminance and an arc length, to raise/lower a torch and a superior weld zone is obtained.
