PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amino acid analyzer capable of carrying out separation at high speed. SOLUTION: This analyzer is composed of a separation column 10, a buffer solution pump 7 for feeding plural buffer solutions 1, 2, 3, 4 to the separation column 10, a sampler 7 provided in a flow passage between the pump 7 and the column 10 to introduce an analyzed sample into the flow passage, and a reaction coil 14 for reacting an amino acid separated by the separation column 10 with a ninhydrin reagent after they are mixed. A ratio Ll/R of a length Ll to an inside diameter R of the separation column 10 is 10 or less, and a particle size of an ion exchange resin filled into the column 10 is 4μm or less.
