PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collectively replace a contact pin with a printed board keeping packaged. SOLUTION: This IC socket has a frame fixed to the printed board, a socket block removably fitted to the frame, an IC package mounted on a contact pin disposed in the socket block, and a pressing plate placed on the socket block and the contact pin. According to this replacement method for the contact pin, a locking means for removably locking the socket block on the frame is unlocked by a pressing plate holding member pivoted on the frame, and the contact pin is removed together with the socket block from the frame to be replaced.
