PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freely foldable heat retaining box which easily prevents a lid from being lost. SOLUTION: This heat retaining box comprises a floor panel (2) provided with a base (201), a long panel shape first connecting wall (202) formed wholly and upwardly on an edge crossing at right angles with the base (201) near each edge facing the base (201) and a second connecting wall (203) formed wholly and upwardly crossing at right angles with the base (201) on the edge near either of the edges excluding the edge formed with the wall (202) of the base (201), right and left side panels (3) connected freely foldable on the top end of each wall (202), front and back side panels (4A, 4B) connected freely foldable near the edge facing the edge formed with the second wall (203) of the base (201) and lids (5A, 5B) connected freely foldable on each end of the panels (4A, 4B).
