PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve and pick out a specified address card easily out of a plurality of address cards. SOLUTION: In an address printer using address cards describing address information individually, number information specifying an address card to be retrieved by user action is inputted. Subsequently, number information of a plurality of address cards is read out and a decision is made whether the number information of the address cards thus read out matches the inputted number information specifying the address card to be retrieved or not. Address cards having matched number information are discharged separately.
