摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a composite optical element excellent in heat resistance and dimensional accuracy and having a predetermined surface shape. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the composite optical element includes a process for supplying a first sol-gel film forming liquid to the gap between a mold and a base material in a close contact state to arrange the same in a film form, a process for heating the sol-gel film forming liquid and separating the mold to apply a film having a first surface of a shape wherein the surface shape of the mold is reversed to the surface of the base material, a process for supplying a second sol-gel forming liquid which has a refractive index different from that of the film having the first surface at least by 0.05 after curing to the gap between a second mold and the film having the first surface applied to the base material in a close contact state to arrange the same in a film form, and a process for heating the second sol-gel film forming liquid and subsequently separating the second mold to laminate and apply a film having a second surface to the film having the first surface in a shape wherein the surface shape of the second mold is reversed.
