The electrode contaction system uses an electrode blank of a synthetic resin with a bore which partially penetrates the electrode body, in which a solid or hollow pin of a biocompatible metallic material is inserted. The pin has a smaller size than the bore and projects from the electrode body. The electrode bank is subjected to pyrolysis, for converting the synthetic resin into a glass carbon, with the electrode body shrinking to fit around the projecting pin. Pref. the part of the pin fitted within the bore is conically widened towards its inner end, for secure anchoring in the electrode body. |
