PURPOSE: A watchdog controlling method is provided to process a watchdog function, which is for checking if a continuous operation state is normal, by using a software, and to output a reset signal of a micom different from an enable signal of a peripheral for confirming a stability of the peripheral. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of a micro controller receiving an initial power and the first micom outputting a low level signal(S401), the second micom receiving an initial power and simultaneously a power-on reset IC outputting a control signal for resetting the first micom until the initial power is stable(S403), the second micom resetting the first micom according to the initial power input, turning on a switching element for blocking off an output of the first micom and disabling the output of itself(S405), the initial setting of the micro controller being completed, the first micom generating a trigger signal for performing a watchdog operation, and transmitting the trigger signal to the second micom, the second micom determining that an abnormal state occurs at the first micom and turning on the switching element in a case that a trigger signal is not input within a normal state detection time(S407), the switching element resetting the first micom as turned on by the second micom(S409), and the first micom is enabled if the reset time has passed, the first micom is normally operated and then the first trigger signal is generated(S411).
