PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for furniture movable pieces having an improved and structurally simple free wheel. SOLUTION: The shock absorber 14 for the furniture movable pieces has a liquid damper formed as a rotary damper 20 formed with two relatively rotatable components, i.e., a casing and a cylinder arranged in the casing. A buffer solution, e.g. silicone oil, is filled in the cylinder. During a buffer operation, one of two components is rotated by an operating component, and the other component is kept nonrotational. The rotary damper 20 is supported to be displaced in the radial direction and pressed to a holder 17 by the operating component during the buffer operation. |
