AIR BAG DEVICE FOR PROTECTION OF HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head protecting air bag device allowing its air bag to be folded up compactly through a simple wrapping operation and capable of being manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: The head protecting air bag device is equipped with air bag 10 accommodated at the peripheral edge of the opening on the intra-cabin side upon being folded up with possibility of inflation and a ruptural wrapping material 22 wound round for preventing the folded-up air bag from collapsing. The wrapping material 22 is made from a synthetic resin sheet equipped with self- attaching property tightly and is wound in such a way that its end portions overlap each other in the direction around the axis of the air bag 10 folded up into approximately a rod shape, and the folded-up condition of the air bag 10 is maintained by means of tight attachment of the overlapping portions to each other.
