PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a readily producible recording paper, having high white paper gloss, excellent gloss after printing, and good printability represented by offset printing, ink jet printing, and thermal-transfer printing. SOLUTION: This recording paper is obtained by coating at least either one of support body surfaces with a copolymer latex prepared by polymerizing monomers in the presence of a neutralized substance of an alkali-soluble copolymer and is in that the alkali-soluble copolymer is obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising 5-80 wt.% of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and 20-95 wt.% of other monomers copolymerizable therewith in the presence of an alcoholic hydroxyl group-containing water-soluble polymer compound. |
