PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material which has a high ink absorbency and a high print density and no problem on printer conveying properties and offset and favorable visibility on back light system. SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording material, at least one ink accepting layer is provided on one side of a light transmitting support. On the opposite side of one back coating layer, the back coating layer includes inorganic fine particles having the average particle diameter of primary particles of 5 to 50 nm and a hydrophilic binder and the percentage of void of which is 70 vol.% or less.
