摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for offsetting a sudden increase in a load in a driving device of an automobile having an internal combustion engine 1, and a continuously variable transmission 6 arranged in a motive power transmission passage to a wheel 10 from the internal combustion engine 1. SOLUTION: The sudden increase in the load is detected by a sensor 8. When detecting the sudden increase in the load, a controller 4 controls a generator 2 so as to generate offset torque. This control prevents the sudden increase in the load related to a slip in the continuously variable transmission 6. This prevention is particularly effective when the continuously variable transmission has a belt and a belt pulley and contact pressure between the belt and the belt pulley is designed by taking into consideration only ordinary operation.
